Welcome back to this weekly review of my life, I’m writing this a little bit later this week so I hope I’ll remember everything in the most detailed possible way. Last week has been quite an interesting one, even though I had a strong headache for almost all the days (and I still don’t know the reason…).
As promised, I’ll tell what I did on Monday: Francisco asked me to join him at a center in Seixal, where volunteers prepare food for homeless people, with us there was also Simon. The morning was incredibly nice, we had the opportunity to meet interesting people and enjoy some time together while we were cutting bread. During this activity we asked some questions about that organization, apparently they distribute food to 100+ people in need and sometimes even to whom is not officially “registered” for the help (you can ask for it by adding your name to their list). I was glad to know that the food is entirely donated by the supermarkets: instead of throwing away the things about to be expired, they give them to this center to be used for a good purpose. Once we finished our task, Francisco took us to a tour of Seixal, the beaches and Almada, I enjoyed every seconds of it and I was so happy to finally see the ocean in Almada. We concluded the morning with a tasty Bifana with soup in Almada Forum!
The week then proceeded as always, while I was trying to survive the strong headache… then, I keep thinking about the possible reason for it, making everything worse and increasing the pain. Too much thinking is not good for me. We started to do some walks around Laranjero and Almada within us volunteers. I must say that, with the right pair of shoes, they were really enjoyable. Sometimes (but it was a totally rare event), we would make sangria and spend the latest part of the evening by watching a movie together. We are currently watching all the “Scary Movie” movies, even though I’m not sure we will finish the last one since everybody says that it’s not worth it.
