Bom dia!!
Welcome back to my weekly blog. I should definitely start to write them sooner during the week because I tend to forget things with time, leading to a non-detailed narration.
I do remember that on Monday we went to Almada Forum (such a new activity). In Auchan I finally managed to find some noodles that have a great flavor and have the perfect texture, eating them with a couple of eggs make your day better, no matter what you’re going through.
The rest of the week proceeded as the first one, at the Office now I’m trying to write the PowerPoint presentation for the workshop about Java that I’ll (I should) do next month. It seems easy, but I realized that it’s incredibly difficult to understand how much time students need to understand a new concept, for example computational thinking. I believe that this kind of process is something that has to “click”, it’s the same thing in math: the teacher explains the new topic to you, you don’t understand, you try to solve some exercises and at first you don’t seems to get them… then the day after everything makes suddenly sense and you’re able to understand all the examples. Following this line of thoughts, I’m trying to introduce an argument and then give the time needed to assimilate the new knowledge, hopefully it will work.
On Wednesday, Simon and I recorded the podcast. I have to say that I enjoyed it more that I was expecting, at the end of it I realized that it was basically just a normal conversation and , since I like talking to him, there was no struggle in doing that for about 40 minutes. During the afternoon Sofia came back from Italy and we had cake together with all the volunteers, we also tried to watch a movie but she was too tired from the trip so we didn’t finish it.
The best day of the week was probably Sunday, when some of us went to Belem. We walked to the tower and then back to the monastery, even though we couldn’t visit it cause we should have payed for it. Overall it was a nice walk, I couldn’t fully enjoy it because my phone stopped working once we arrived there and I kept thinking about the struggle that this would have caused (thankfully it started working again that night!!).
Beijos e abracos!!
