The arrival
After my studies, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to have an experience abroad, to discover a new culture and a new language. Well, I decided to do a European Voluntary Service.
Therefore, here I am, in this new adventure, in Portugal ! It is the first time I came to this country and I already want to visit every place !
After a short flight from the north of France to Lisbon, and a short ride from Lisbon to Laranjeiro, I arrived at the volunteers´ home. I met my new roommates around a good home-made lunch and I unpacked my baggage in my new comfortable room.
Everything was great so far, what was not expected (and surely it is because I am from the north and I think temperatures are more pleasant in the south) is the cold inside the flat. During winter, temperatures can be nice outside and freezing inside houses, offices and schools.
The EVS
I will be there for six month, helping the association in its activities, learning new skills and complete a work experience in another European country. I am willing to start my missions and discover the job of the association.
EVS is a good opportunity to discover a new country, a new culture and to meet other young volunteers ! I hope my EVS will permit me to travel, meet people, learn, grow up and have fun in Portugal !
