How time flies. It’s been almost two weeks since the time of my arrival, but nothing changes because I’m still very excited about Portugal.
Last weekend, I had a chance to visit Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais with my friends. To be honest, all of them are quite amazing places, however Cascais has been my favourite one which made me quite mesmerized. It seems like as if it came out of fairy tales. I could feel the smell of the ocean and wonderfulness of the nature while walking slowly by the sea. Another thing that I want to mention about Cascais is Boca do Inferno where the waves tell how stronger they are actually than their look on the face of all humanity, which made me remember impotency of the mankind again. It was absolutely gorgeous.
When it comes to Sintra, it was a different day with full of adventures for all of us. In the beginning, we joined in a free walking tour to learn more about Sintra and rich history of Portugal. Then, we decided to walk to Park and National Palace of Pena on the top of the hill from the city center, which was a kind of lunatic because it was too far away to walk but I think it was exactly worth walking. Both the palace and its park were glorious. Especially, it was a very unique experience to get lost in the fog. When I looked down from above, all I could see was the gray clouds of fog, as if it was a road to infinity.
And lastly, a very lovely city with its yellow trams and buildings:Lisbon.
I’m very glad to be here in the middle of Christmas, so I can say that I find myself a little bit lucky. Every corner of the city was colorful and decorated in a nice way. I could feel that the whole city smelt history intensely while walking around on the streets. Also, it’s amazing to be able to see quite old buildings that have been still standing for many centuries. The best part of this trip was no doubt to taste Portugese traditional food like sardine, bacalhau and of course, nata.
