Today I would like to write more about my project. Name of the project is “Socially engaged. Learn-Teach, Get-Give” and this name speaks for itself.
Couple days ago I had a training session about Photoshop. I was learning about how to create a cover for future Rato ADCC videos. It was not so complicated but I knew that I needed to practise because it is all about details. I learned and felt confident about this topic but…I did not know that I needed to do the same training for people.
Today was a day that I was training a couple of people in Rato about how to use Photoshop for future projects we will have. After that I have some reflections which I want to share with you.
There are a lot of things that you need to remember during training.
First of all you need to know what you are going to talk about and in this case I mean you need to prepare the script with details because you don´t know about the people’s knowledge about the topic. So you need to be prepared that for some of them the topic will be easier but for some of them it might be harder.
Beside the script there is also important to think about self presentation. You need to be confident, care about your voice to speak loud enough, control your gesticulation and of course not forget about checking if this what you are talking about is clear for everybody especially if you are going to do a presentation in a different language in a multicultural environment. There is a lot especially if you are working with devices that might be broken, work super slow and you have limited time for presentation. After the presentation it is also good to sum up everything to be sure that everybody will understand the topic and will be able for example to do their future project of their own.
After this training I have just one reflection. It’s really hard to deal with technical problems without stress. Especially if you don’t know what is going on and you also need help. But at least I am in a friendly and open environment where I always can ask for support.
I learned, I teached, I got, I gave. Well, I suvived, I think.
