Sintra and Cabo da Roca

My second week in Portugal went as fast as the first one and was equally, if not even more exciting.

In Rato I was working on the videos, learning how to record and edit voice.

I learned a few new words during Portuguese classes and tried traditional food in school canteen.

And for the most exciting part, I was able to travel more with other volunteers. We visited Sintra where we walked all the way up to Pena Palace. The road was really tiring but it was well worth it. This colorful building is very impressive and makes you feel like a princess. It looks as if it was from a fairytale. No wonder it´s so popular, also for wedding sessions, one of which we witnessed there.

Another trip we took was to Cabo da Roca, the most western point of Europe. Again, the road was difficult, even though this time we took a bus. But it was so spiraly and the vehicle was turning every few second which made me feel a bit like a ride on a roller coaster. The place itself was great, it was so cool to see the end of the continent. The only downside was that it was super windy and quite cold. Other than that, Cabo da Roca is a beautiful spot, especially now, during fall, as its hills are all in red-yellow-green tones.
