last days in Rato were quite busy, usually my daily tasks are to create and edit videos, Almada map and so on, and this week I had a bit more things to do.
Mentoring meeting with Laura
We were talking about my trip to the project, why I chose Portugal and organisation Rato, why I decided to join this project. Laura introduced me an amazing activity which helped me to reflect and to think about expectations I have about this project, my needs, and contributions which I can offer and also about fears if I have any according to this project and live here during it. It helped me a lot, I think it will be also very useful to keep these thoughts in my notebook, I can use them to write my Youth Pass which I´ll fill at the end of the project, and also just to keep it with me to always remember reasons why I choose this project and how it changed my life
IT workshops with seniors
I didn’t expect that these workshops will happen that why I was surprised when they told me that organisation will host the workshop today and many seniors will appear soon in the aula. Rodrigo was also surprised. My task was to help seniors to follow Nuno´s instructions, check if they understand what is going on and take some pictures. One lady speaks German so the communication with her was much easier for me, I haven’t been talking in German for many years, but I still can communicate and understand what people are talking because I keep listen to German music and reading sometimes news in German language. Some of senior know a few English word what also surprised me a bit. All of seniors dealt very well with the task, they needed some help, but everyone will need when the topic is new, it was lovely, they came to learn how to use computer and communicator program, thanks to this they will be able to call their families, friends, and other people
Saturday’s HTML workshops
Saturday in the morning we had training activity about HTML, how to write basic things using this html language. HTML is used to create pages and content on it. The task was to create and geometric shape and a letter inside of it. This workshop was in Portuguese language, and João helped me with understanding everything. This workshop was very useful and nice, it helped me to know how this works. I can’t wait for more workshops like that!
