Last week we had a workshop about working with cameras. Gonçalo organized the workshop and he showed us cameras, tripods, mics and how to work with them. We learned how the audience’s thoughts and feelings change according to the distance of the object being shot, how to shoot a good interview, what DSLR means, what ISO, shutter, aperture is…
I feel like I’m starting to understand Portuguese more! Lessons with Herminia are really fun and educational. Continuity and frequency are really important when learning a language. We have Portuguese lessons that are 3 days and one lesson lasts 1 hour, so it’s efficient for us.
Last week Tiago showed me the machines and supplies that Rato has, and he told me the machines they will buy in the future. In this way, I’ll be able to think and create workshop ideas for Jah Moment.
Last week Nuno showed me what Graphic Facilitation is. I started to search and learned how to make it. Graphic Facilitation is basically visual recording. Graphic Facilitation can be used in meetings to help develop shared ideas. It includes graphics -like diagrams, drawings, symbols, charts… I did some graphic facilitation examples. The most complex one is Steve Jobs’ Stanford Commencement in 2005 – Nuno showed us this video a month ago in the CV workshop to inspire us.
On Tuesday I went with Nuno to help him in a workshop. That workshop was organized by Nuno and it was in a youth center called Raízes Baobá. In that workshop Nuno separated participants in two different groups. One group consisted of 4 people and the other group consisted of 16 participants. Small group has lots of sources to build a house, and big group has less sources. Nuno asked them how to manage sources in the most efficient way to build a house and then he drew attention to having an adequate house, and other issues about housing.
Because of Easter, we had 2 days off. So in total we had 4 days for resting. On those days we continued our travels. Easter market was opened in Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. There were lots of tourists and we had a chance to have a chat with some of them. It was fun. Lisboa was really crowded! On Sunday we went to Setubal. It was a nice place but we were so tired and it was so hot. So we wanted to sit on the beach instead of walking.
This week started our weekly meeting as usual. Yesterday we had some preparations for the Jah Moment. I prepared a poster for the first day’s activities. We hang that poster on the wall, so people will be able to write their names for the activities they want to join.
Today, 20th April is the first day of Jah Moment. There were 4 different activities; Eurodesk, Arduino Workshop, Yoga Workshop and Workshop about Poland. While Gonçalo was shooting video, I was taking photos of activities. I liked Jah Moment a lot and I’m looking forward to more Jah Moment activities.
