Mondays can be great too!

Hello again! 🙂

It’s been almost two weeks since I arrived in Portugal, so I want to share with you my impressions of the trip together with the Rato-ADCC volunteers. Yesterday we visited two small but charming towns called Azeitão and Palmela.

The beginning of our adventure began when we arrived in a cozy little town called Azeitão. It was completely different atmosphere from the municipality where we live in Lisbon, and it was very satisfying – life here was measured and quiet.

It would be a sin to visit the city without tasting the famous dessert called “Tortas de Azeitão”.
The taste was extraordinary, I would highly recommend trying it sometime!

After lunch we went to explore a park called “Jardim da Quinda da Bacalhoa”.
The green landscape and unusually shaped sculptures here will make you feel peaceful and happy, despite the hot weather.

This picture cannot capture the real colour of these sculptures, so I suggest you visit this park and check out what the colour really is!

The scenery outside the window changed very quickly, I never would have thought Portugal could be so diverse and multi-faceted.

Throughout the route you could see new styles of architecture, quite possibly the linguistic dialects were different too.

Next we arrived in Palmela, a town that captivated me with its scenery. A couple of weeks ago, the area had been torched by a fire due to an abnormal heatwave, but this even added to the charm of the place.

The adventure is coming to an end, but I’m sure I’ll see you again in the next blog, in which I’ll tell you about the wonderful challenges in Portugal with Rato-ADCC.
