Meu nome é Joanna. Sou da Polonia. Tenho vinte e cinco anos. Agora moro em Miratejo em casa com voluntarios de Rato..
My project is a youth workers mobility. In Poland I work in a youth organization named Kobiety.lodz.pl, which cooperated with Rato before. I have decided to do the job shadowing in Rato, because I was interested in the methodology and context of work of the organization, especially in the project Oraculo Jovem.
When I arrived in the house and in the office, I realized one important thing: I need to learn basics of Portuguese as soon as possible!! 😀 Especially that the people in the office are so kind and funny. I would like to be able to follow their conversations.
For now I am staying with people, who are about to finish their EVS in Rato.. Lara, Donato and Ivica. During my first day, they welcomed me very warm, with a nice dinner and portuguese wine. New volunteers will come in some days. It seems like I am somewhere in between, spending last days with ¨old ones¨and welcoming the ¨new ones”.
Setubal is new for me. The place where I stay – Miratejo seems very quiet and peaceful, unlike Lisbon. But I am happy to discover Setubal more soon. As I am interested in photography and video making, I believe I will find many topics and inspirations during my 2 months stay here..
