Return of old passions, and the arrival of other new passions

This week has been a whirlwind of news, in which I have broken many boundaries and done things that until recently seemed unthinkable. To begin with, I recorded my first podcast episode here at work. I was nervous at first, but once I started, I had a lot of fun and realized how much I enjoyed it. Now they are asking me to continue and interview people from outside the organization. Considering that until recently I would have said no, this is a big step forward for me. I am setting up several interviews with friends and colleagues and am seriously considering starting a podcast once I return to Italy; it seems to be a unanimous suggestion.

Also, during an open mic, I performed with my brother. I hadn’t sung on a stage in at least six years, and it was exciting and scary at the same time. Receiving compliments made me feel alive, and I decided to continue doing that during my stay here. Singing with my brother was a special moment, especially because my parents were present. They have always encouraged me to follow my passion for music, and seeing them so excited was rewarding.

This experience is helping me tremendously to overcome my limitations and fears, learning to live fully and do what makes me happy, with the hope of continuing this once I return home.

Thank you, Portugal, for all these emotions!
