RATO WEEK 2: Plans & Projects

Let’s start with a quick recap of how my second week went:

It started with a scenic walk around the beautiful Belém neighborhood with Giulia and Simon, and since I had been there before, I took on the role of the unofficial tour guide. We also tried the famous pastéis de Belém for the first time as we walked back on the river’s side. After admiring the sunset from under the bridge, I showed them LXFactory’s Ler Devagar.

On Monday, I decided to stay in and focus on a new personal project. But just as I was deep into my work, an unexpected earthquake shook things up.

On Tuesday evening we played a Russian game that Martins taught us, needless to say I lost in the worst possible way…more than once.

Wednesday I finally started the first thing I’m going to work on this project: A manual on Canva! I also got an anticipation of the things I’ll be working on in the future and they seem promising. We’ll see…

I spent Thursday night (and Friday’s early morning) chatting with Martins as we were drinking a super sweet (apparently italian) liquor and on Friday I had to suffer the consequences.

So going back to my clearly excellent (as you could see by the itinerary from Sunday) tour guide skills and since I was given a second chance at exploring Portugal, taking inspiration from Simon’s blog, I’ve decided to compile a list of things I want to see, places I want to go and experiences I want to live.

At the end of this adventure I feel like we can go over what I actually did (if I visited all these spots, if I saw more, etc..) and I’ll try to write a guide so other volunteers  (even in the future) can take inspiration.

So stay tuned…

Sofia

PS: As people suggest stuff to me I’ll gradually add them, and I’ll take out the ones I’ve already done.
