“Já quase não cabia a saudade acumulada”

WHEN THE FEELING DOESN ‘ T FIT INSIDE ANYMORE…
Sometimes it really feels like that, the nostalgia piling up until there’s no space left inside.

Not dramatic

Not poetic.

Just real life.

You miss someone, a place, a moment, a version of yourself… and suddenly that feeling starts overflowing.

The Portuguese call it saudade.

Here in Italy, we don’t have one perfect word for it, so we try to explain it in pieces: “I miss this,” “I feel nostalgic,” “I’ve got this feeling stuck inside.” But it’s all the same vibe that quiet ache that shows up when you see an old photo, hear a song from another time, or walk past somewhere that doesn’t feel like “yours” anymore.

Saudade isn’t always poetic. Sometimes it’s heavy, slow, honest. It’s the realization that life moved on, even if you haven’t fully caught up yet.

But there’s something gentle in it, too.
If we feel saudade, it’s because something mattered. Because we lived, loved, changed. The feeling is what’s left when the moment is gone proof that it meant something.

So yeah, sometimes it doesn’t fit inside anymore.
But maybe that’s just the heart reminding us of who we were… and who we still are.
