My name is Adelajda, I am 22 years old polish girl. I arrived in Corroios yesterday and I am super excited to spend here the next 6 months working as a volunteer in Rato ADCC.
I am just after my bachelor in Finances and Accounting and I’ve decided to take an one year break before doing my Master Studies. My idea was to spend this year travelling and gaining new experiences. That’s why I’ve decided to make an EVS!
In my point of view, there are many reasons to take part in European Voluntary Service.
First of all, it’s a perfect opportunity to travel, gain international experience and make friends from all around the world. In addition, you get financial support so you travel almost for free!
Moreover, it’s a good way to get to know yourself better and become more responsible. At the beginning you are alone in the place you don’t know, with people you don’t know… it can make one a bit confused and lost. But after some time you’ll become a new person – more open minded, more tolerable and more appreciating the life. I am sure that EVS or any other Erasmus programme is a life experience changing people lifes for better!
Last but not least, I strongly believe that nowadays volunatary actions are crucial to gain better society and I hope that I might change the world for better.
