Hello again – I haven’t been here for a while I have to admit but the reason behind was … work, work, work, work, work! 🙂
Sooooo many things have been going on in the organization in the past 3 weeks – a lot of activities held both in the Rato – ADCC’s office as well as in the partner organizations: local schools and associations.
Together with Nuno – the trainer in Rato – ADCC and Ahmet, Clementine, Luca or Rammeh – EVS volunteers of the organization, I have been supporting both: regular activities of Rato – ADCC as well as other initiatives, which I would like to present to you in this post. So far I have been supporting / observing / job shadowing or facilitating the following activities:
Regular workshops and activities held by Rato – ADCC, such as:
– social and international inequality
– migrations and social justice
– interdependencies
What is more, between 19 – 29 October, we have been hosting a group of Polish educators and trainers under the job shadowing project „Education Innovation” coordinated by my sending organization KobieTY (kobiety.lodz.pl) and financed by Erasmus+ program.
Together we have been exploring participants’ personal skills and competences as well as the daily work of Rato – ADCC, exploring the topics of:
– competences of a social worker
– study visits and good practices in social work
– social education approaches
– active and participatory approaches to the methods in social work context
– job shadowing and getting inspired by the activities where Rato – ADCC is either the organizer or partner organization
My personal challenge in this time was the „Meeting of Erasmus+ Volunteers in Setúbal”, which took place on the 20th October. I was responsible for the facialitation of icebreaking and team building activities for a group of 26 EVS volunteers and their coordinators, who are currently implementing projects’ activities in the district of Setúbal. After the sessions, we’ve had a lovely boat trip on the Tagus river and after that – a local association „ „ invited us to play games in this international and intergenerational setting that we’ve had. It’s been a lovely day full of international, intercultural and intergenerational vibes – just how I like it! <3
To sum up, October has been for me – both professionally and personally – an intense and sometimes a bit difficult but at the same time very satisfactory fruitful time full of learning by doing, observation & job shadowing, collecting inspirations and good practices as well as joy of – as we hope – making the world a better place: day by day and step by step.
