Hi, my name is Klaudia and I´m finally here in Portugal! A few months ago I finished my film studies and wondered what to do next, since all of my plans had to be cancelled because of the virus. And then I remembered that a few years ago I heard about EVS and it seemed perfect for me.
In the past I participated in a few youth exchanges within Erasmus Plus project and I just loved the experience so I thought it´s time for me to do something a bit longer. That´s why when I saw that Rato is searching someone to help the organisation in October, I immediately applied. When I got accepted I took it as a sign that I should go and discover what´s there for me and how can I help others.
And now, after a few months, I´m here, ready for new challenges, excited to meet people from different parts of the world and learn by doing. I hope to gain new skills and find out how to use the ones that I already have in the way that´s beneficial for the organisation and people who I will work with. I´m also really happy with Portuguese lessons, although the sound of this language was quite a surprise for me.
Of course I also can´t wait to visit Lisbon and other beautiful places in Portugal, feel the vibe of this country and try new things – starting with pastel de nata, which I already ate this afternoon with my new colleagues and I can only hope that every experience here will be so sweet!
For now we are all facing a new reality, as our world has changed unbelievably during the last months. I´m just really happy and grateful that I´m able to have this experience in Portugal as a part of my own new reality.
