A little about me…

Who am I?

Hi, my name is Ada. I’m 19 year old and I came here from a small villeage in Poland. I’m going to stay here for the next 9 months!  After graduating from high school last year I decided to take a gap year and try to discover what I want to study. Then I found out about European Solidarity Corps and started searching for a project. I sent an aplication to Rato ADCC and here I am, writing a post for you.

Why this project?

The question ‘why?’ have been chasing me in every way for a month now and I think the answer is my strong interest in contemporary issues. Social inequality, in my opinion is one of the most pressing matters we are facing and this project will tackle just that. As Bruce Lee said ‘Knowing is not enoug, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.’ Furthermore, I wanted to go for a long-term voluntary, to try something new and to challange myself with new tasks.

Why Portugal?

I love exploring new cultures and meeting new people, as well as travelling. I think Portugeese people are very open and so far I don’t have any doubts about it. Also, all of the members of the organisation are helpful and kind.
