Because of current situation in Portugal, home office is mandatory. Since I am alone at home, I wasn’t really happy due to this. But today it was the last day of it, and next weekend Ill go to work in the office. It’s a bit better than home office, because it gives me opportunity to walk more and spend more time outside. Home office seems to be attractive way of working but it’s also very challenging. Today I can share with you some advice which may help with home office
Morning routine
I didn’t change my morning routine. I set my alarm to the same time as every day, I don’t stay in pajama and make myself breakfast. Everything as it was before home office. Even if I saved some time, because I didn’t spend time walking to the office, I decided to use this time to eat my breakfast a bit longer before starting work. On this way I helped my brain not to be more lazy.
Working space
I created a working space in a living room just to have space for computer and sunlight. I know that’s hard foe me to focus when working in own room, everything can distract so the best idea for me was to create some working space in different part of a flat. It’s like to convince my bran that I’m going to the office, which currently was in other part of flat.
Work routine
Also work routine helped a lot. We started every day with a call, which helped to organise tasks for the project for next hours.
Time after work
Because of no need of going to office I move less, so this week I took specialty care about going out after doing thigs for a project. Also I knew that If I sit in pijama all day before computer screen I will not have willing of going out. That’s why I didn’t send days in pijama and I was ready to go outside in the evening. Sometimes It was just another walk to Pingo Doce to buy something, or I decided for a long walk with my new friend from here. Everyday i try to reach my goal which is 10 000 steps per day. Before home office it was much easier because of going to the office, also for a lunch break I used to go back home and cook for myself, or when the day was sunny and the weather was nice and warm I used to go to the park next to the office to relax there during my lunch break. Now to reach this amout of steps is a bit challanging, but its still not hard to do it, to have this goal helps me to be motivated and go out to walk a bit every day.

Home office will finish today. I’m vey happy that we don’t have any lockdown like last year, its still possible to leave the flat and even go to restaurants and some other places. I can’t wait for next week because my friend from Italy is moving to Lisbon. He wanted to try to live abroad and got contract in one of corporations in Lisbon. I’m also looking forward for new volunteers. Its not bad to live alone for some weeks, it’s a time for a hobby like cooking, or reading books or calling a lot my friend and family, but I cant wait to meet new people and spend some time together at home, cooking, talking and getting to know new things from each other
