Last week in Rato was quick and chilly. On Tuesday there was a carnaval, so everybody had a day off. During rest of the week I was mainly making videos for YouTube.
This week in Rato we have activities in schools dedicated to Youth Month. At first when I heard that we would have to go to school and tell something in front of the class I felt quite uncomfortable, because I always hated to make some presentations or some speeches in school or university. But suddenly I really liked that activity! Teenagers were really cool, they were interested in talking to us and asking some questions. I admire them, because the schools here comparing to Belarus are so free and modern! I was very happy when after the activity one girl told me that she felt so inspired by us! And telling something in front of the class turned out to be not so scary, when you’re speaking about your personal experience and about something you truly believe in. We will continue these events through the whole week, so I’m looking forward to see how it will be like in other classes!
On Saturday I went to make a new tattoo. One Polish girl organized an event during which all money she got from making tattoos, went to Ukrainian Red Cross. I wanted to make a tattoo with a hippie sign even before this war has started, so when I saw that event, I realized there wouldn’t be a better moment for making this tattoo than right now, so I immediately wrote to that girl and made an appointment. I’m happy of being able to help at least in that financial way (and because of the tattoo, of course!).
On Sunday Martyna and I went to Cascais for the first time. It was amazing as the coast there has a lot of beautiful rocks, and the view of the waves crashing on them is my favorite one! There was a place, where when you sit, you can hear quite a strange sound of the water moving through the wholes in the rocks – it sounds like the ocean is breathing. It made me think about Solaris. After it I wasn’t able to see the ocean in a normal way. We stayed there till sunset and the view was still awesome.
On Monday we visited Belém district. We saw Belém Tower, and for me it looked more beautiful during night, because of the contrast of the dark blue sky and white light of the Tower. We also tried Pastéis de Belém, but actually I would prefer Pastel de Nata. After it, we met Matyna’s Italian friend and took a walk around Lisbon with him. The weather was not so warm during last couple of days, so we weren’t able to stay longer.
