Hi! It’s Anna with a weekly update about volunteers’ life!
Last week we were continuing to give classes in schools encouraging teenagers to volunteer. It was always fascinating, because every class is different, every school is different and it’s very interesting to observe students as a group.
On Saturday we had CV workshops in Rato. It was a workshop for youngsters helping them to clarify their strong and weak points, to formulate the competences they already have and what they need to have to get a perfect job. Nuno conducted it in quite a creative way, although I still felt a little bit lost, because I was coming here hoping that nobody would ask me, who am I going to be in the future.
On Sunday I went to Lisbon alone as Martyna didn’t feel well. I decided to take this opportunity to visit some museums, so I chose the National Museum of Contemporary Art. It was nice, but I would rather recommend you to visit Museu Berardo as the collection there is much bigger and more interesting as for me. After it I went to LX Factory to see the Sunday market there and then went to Belém to meet one Argentinian girl I got to know through Facebook. We spent a nice evening, the weather on that day was amazing, so we saw a beautiful sunset next to Belém Tower!
On Monday I felt quite tired after all variety of emotions and experiences I had during last 2 weeks, so I decided to had a calm day at home. We were cleaning the house with Martyna, because after the previous volunteers this process can be endless xd But we’re closer and closer to a perfectly clean flat! Tuesday was quite intriguing as a new volunteer was coming, so we went to meet her at the airport. The weather was extremely strange, because of Sahara sands coming to Portugal and Spain. Everything around looked like it’s behind some dusty curtain. There was no sun visible, only some light far away behind this dust. I experienced something similar in China, but there it was more in grey and white color, because of smog, although there it was an everyday weather. Here everything was literally brown like somebody has applied some filter on the photo. Or like the apocalypses is already here. Or like you’re in the Dune universe! Today is much better, although there is still no sun visible, at least it’s not brown anymore!
