RATO WEEK 5: NY celebration in Lisbon

I spent Sunday and Monday at home, cleaning and organizing the space for the new volunteer from Italy, who is going to be my roommate, Giulia.

On the 31st on the other hand we (Giulia and I) had coffee with Martins and his portuguese friend Adriana near the office and then got ready to celebrate new year’s eve. After dinner (and more than a couple of beers), we headed to Lisbon to catch the fireworks just in time.
We spent the whole night in the city and went back home with the 5:40 am ferry, so, naturally, the first day of the year was spent mainly acting out the role of sleeping beauty.

On Tuesday and Friday we went to work like usual. I’m currently translating the Google Maps Manual I wrote in english into portuguese. Saturday was Mimi’s birthday and for the occasion I tried making tiramisú cake (instead of savoiardi it has a layer of cake).

Sunday I visited the Museu Nacional do Azulejo in Lisbon and, even though I ended up feeling sick and had to cut my visit short, I really enjoyed it and I recommend it a lot. Monday was also spent in a coma, I got up at 3pm and tried to put all my energy into completing the cleaning task.
I feel like since the new year started I suddenly became an 80-years-old or at least that’s what my roommate told me. What’s funny it’s that not only us two girls are both Italians, but we also both have ADHD, so you can imagine how random our conversations get. And we’ve been especially enjoying sending each other memes.

See you next week,
Sofia
