WEEKLY RUNDOWN 5: Just a chill week

Bom dia 🙂

Here we go again with our weekly blog… 5 weeks already passed by and that means that I’ve been here for 1/6 of the project. The temperatures are slowly increasing and you can start feeling the (very beginning) summer that’s coming. During the last week at the office everything was so quiet, we were probably 6/7 people on average among us volunteers, the ones who work there and the interns.
I do believe that you can have a lot of fun in a big group, but if your goal is to get to know someone, it’s necessary to be in a small one or even alone with that person. Last week I felt like I was actually talking with some of the people here at the office for the first time. Especially during coffee break, the conversations were more private than what they usually are. What I mean with a “chill week” is exactly that, in the calmer environment and warmer weather, there was no stress neither for social interactions nor working time. That made me really think about what’s a job for me: do you live to work or do you work to live? Which way is the right one, the rush of the (typically) northern parts of the world, with a clear distinction between job and private life, or the mix that you have in other areas (like Portugal), where you build strong and private social connections with colleagues and working becomes a nice part of the day (even though it might be less productive)? And also, what fits my mindset the best?
Anyways, during the weekend we had movie night among us volunteers and then on Sunday the Gulbenkian museum was free
so of course it was necessary to go there and enjoy the garden that surrounds it.
On Monday I had the opportunity to do a very interesting activity, but I guess you’ll have to wait until the end of this week to find out more about it!!
As always, thanks for reading and see you in a few days.
