Dear EVS-Blog,
How are you? I hope that everything is fine with you. I felt bad – and this for a long, long time 😉
Portugal is going to freeze to death – and me also! Okay, but lovley EVS-Blog, I am going to explain you.
First of all you now that the portugese are nice. They are not stupid, unfriendly or unorganised – they are just different. But not worse! So you can not expect the same things like you now from your homecountry (central heating, big doors,…). But you know this before you come here. So it´s no surprise (haha) – and nevertheless you have also a lot advantages beside all this little cold things. But later a positive letter. First I will f**** up about the cold!
You, lovely diary, have to imagine that you are living in a wonderful house (it`s not difficult). But this house is open for wind, cold, snow, darkness and all other things you can imagine. So you are in your bed, wear two trousers, two socks, 3 Pullovers and your body have on top three blankets. But you are freezing. So you decide to drink alcohol. That`s good – because so you can sleep easily. The worse thing is to awake in the morning. The room won`t have more than 10 degrees. So your nose and ears are freezing to death. A nice icecold face you`ve in the morning. “It doesn`t matter” you’re thinking and go to the icecold bathroom (more cold than all other rooms because of all the flagging) and jump under the shower. The shower is mais ou menus warm. I am not going to translate you this, because….yeah you know what would happen.
Dear EVS-Blog – there is just one thing what compensate all this “coldy horror” – the coffee in the hot, hot sun…for at least 50 centimos….ou tres euros para sol.
Adeus e fica bem – I will send you a new post, if it`s a bit warmer here. So it will be in June 😉
Kind regards
Your
EVS-Volunteer
Felix
