“By starving emotions we become humorless, rigid and stereotyped; by repressing them we become literal, reformatory and holier-than-thou; encouraged, they perfume life; discouraged, they poison it.”
Oh darling blog,
Oh darling Rato,
Oh darling EVS,
quase over and out. There will be no more morning where I`ve to cycle to Rato, there will be no more lunch with “batatas fritas” of Romy, there will be no more sensless talks about a discount in our café, there won`t be any opportunity to make café myself in the café with my favorite wifes – there will be no more moments where I would like to kill Nuno, to shake him to wake up and not being like this – just to be like normal. There will be no more …
Starving Rato, Starving EVS, Starving Felix – what`s going on?
What does it mean if a Volunteer quit a project in Rato? What does it mean if Felix quit his EVS in Rato? Two questions, two different answers. Tries for honest answers:
What does it mean if a Volunteer quit a project in Rato?
If a Volunteer quit a project in Rato it`s a classical loose-losse situation. Rato is loosing a full-working membership of the team, is loosing intercultural experiences, is loosing a lot. On the other hand the Volunteer loose also a lot. The Volunteer loose previleges, loose a well working, courage team, loose an organisation with difficulties but with the power to make the best in this situation, loose a wonderfull house to life – and hundred conditions you can talk about, you can realize, you can practice.
What does it mean if Felix quit his EVS in Rato?
It`s the opposite – it`s a win-win situation. Rato is not loosing a full-working volunteer – Rato is loosing a guy how was just doing holidays. Rato is not loosing intercultural experiences – because the german boy just complained all the time about the portuguese. Rato is winning a lot of time without stress and aggravation. What Felix wins is not for the public…
Oh no, no, no. My heart ist bleeding. It`s slow leaking – and before I will get drowned in declamatory gibberish I remember all this beautiful, great, unforgetable moments I got because here in Rato.
Thank you Justyna and Nuno – thank you for this wunderful, great year!
Thank you for this bittersweet symphony. 🙂
