The week before Eastern my family went to Portugal to visit me. It was great to see them again, and to sleep in a bed with my sweet little brother 🙂 Or was it just because of the wonderful breakfast and the great hotel we stayed in?? 😉
Who knows my family, knows we always have a lot of fun and a lot of stupid jokes, so it was a really nice week. And with a car it’s definitely much easier to come around in Portugal, so I finally had the chance to visit Sintra and the West Coast of Portugal, as well as Évora. By the way, even in the littlest villages you can find other Austrians, so nice to hear our dialect conquering the world 😉
To end up a great week, we made an Austrian dinner in our home and invited also Paula and Nuno. The menu was, of course, extreeemly delicious, we had Wiener Schnitzel with Kartoffelsalat and Kaiserschmarrn with Zwetschkenröster. So much food, that the Portuguese couldn’t eat the real dessert, original Wiener Gugelhupf, which ended up to be just breakfast for Kati and me.
You might wonder, why not for Justyna.. it’s because she went home to Poland on Friday night. She will be staying about two weeks and after this returning with a C – A – R. Yeah, you read right, we will finally have a CAR!!! So Kati (who’ll also be leaving us in two weeks for 10 days to spend time in her home-forest) and me are alone, and Kati’s all up to do looots of things to have something to tell to friends&family.
That’s why on Saturday (after my family was leaving in the morning) we went to Feira de Ladra in Lisbon together with Paula to spend money on, among other things, the 2nd and 3rd edition of the National Geographic Magazin – we’re so proud! 🙂 After that Kati and me went to Costa Caparica to enjoy the nice weather and watch surfers 😉
This was so exhausting that on Easter Sunday we ended up laying all day long on the couch watching Prison Break (which was also very fine :)).
But Monday was free too, and the first plan (to visit the zoo of Lisbon) was thrown away when Kati saw the blue sky and we had to start our two hours trip to Tróia. Bus-Train-Ferry and a lot of walk, but it payed off, because the target was a lonesome beach just for us two (until thirty French showed up, but that’s another story..).
Was very nice, but we forget one important thing – suncream… so don’t wonder if you see red Kat(h)rins in the next days 😉
Have a nice week!
