So we were asked to write a last post for our beautiful EVS-Blog.
First I have to say that I hope that you, new volunteers, will treat our blog always good and please don’t think about changing the skin of the blog, like we were forced to do at the beginning 😉
This blog is beautiful and it tells the story of one crazy year of EVS in Portugal. If you think it’s necessary to change something on the blog to demonstrate that here’s beginning soemthing new, than chance the color (I know some people who would love to see the blog in red and black ;)).
And if I can give you hint: write the blog in English and Portuguese. I know we did it one or two times and then we were to lazy to continue that, but it would be a great thing ;))
Well, some people wanted that we talk about our feelings on our return, about what we’re doing now and so on.
I remember that the people on the EVS training courses had always talked about the so called “culture shock” when you are going to a new country. No one ever talked about having a culture shock, when you are coming back to your country. Well I had areally hard culture shock, allready on the second day, when I was back!
I went to a Café and drunk a “latte macchiato”. For those who don’t know what that is: it’s sth. like a “Galão”, I guess it’s even the same thing, just the name is different. I had to pay 2,90€ !!!
That’s really not fair 😛
But all in all it’s nice being back in a developed country ;)) And at the same time it’s strange also…I don’t know how to describe it, but I guess I’ve changed a lot in the last year and know I’m beginning to see all the differences…Well just a few month and I’m coming back to Portugal 😀
(If we will make it writing the project *ööööhm* ;))
My plans for the next time are like that: I will stay in Hamburg for a few weeks and will treat some things concerning my future. In two weeks Kathrin will come to visit the “Piefkes” here and I have to give her German lessons, that she will survive the time here 😉 Afterwards I will go back to my trolls in the Black Forrest and there I will work a little bit and I will see if I can travel a little bit [e.g. visiting Austria ;)] Besides this I will go to a training course of a German association which is called the
Europeers.
It won’t be boring, that’s for sure 😉
I guess this was my biggest post during the whole EVS time 😉
At the end I would like to give you a few surviving tips for your time in Portugal, dear volunteers:
1. don’t be scared of Nuno and especially when he’s making strange things with his face :p
2. if you are hearing the sentence “can I make a suggestion?” never ever think about saying yes or ok
3. don’t steal chocolate milk from the fridge but if you should do so anyway, keep it at a save place for me until I come back 😉
4. if you want to go to the bathroom make sure that’s everything ok with the key, it’s better than destroying the bathroom door afterwards, because you are locked in 😉
Ok, I could continue like that for hours, for that it’s better that I will finish this blog. Here my last words:
“Booooooooooom fim-de-semaaaaaaaaaanaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”
